Court issues notice to Odisha BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty in cases of domestic violence
The Cuttack Sub-divisional Judicial Court Judge issued a notice to the actor-turned-politician after taking cognizance DIR delivered by district protection officer
Cuttack: Sub Division Judicial Court Judges (SDJM), Cuttack Monday issued a notice to BJD MP from Kendrapara Anubhav Mohanty in a complaint filed under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act by Varsha Priyardarshini Ollywood actress.
Digbijay SDJM Das protection officer’s report noted the district has filed a complaint Varsha and posted the case to once a month to hear along with the reply to the notice by his Anubhav.
In various criminal cases, Varsha has sought directions to Anubhav to cash compensation of Rs 13 crore and Rs 2 crore against loss of income and the cost of treatment, the right to stay in the share of households or pay Rs 20,000 to rent a house / shelter in his community level and Rs 50,000 per month maintenance.
Varsha had also applied for rights restitution of his conjugal under section 9 of the Hindu Marriage Act 1955 before the Family Court, Cuttack. The petition was scheduled for the first session on October 14.
The actress has filed the petition after the actor-turned politician husband filed for divorce before the Family Court in New Delhi. Meanwhile, the Family Court has issued a notice to Varsha on October 7.
Anubhav has filed for divorce from his wife on the grounds of cruelty while claiming that marriage between them never materialized.
